Based on Hindu teachings, the movement of the universe in time is rotational.

It means the beginning of the present world in which we live,

is the end point of another stage of existence [in the circular motion].

At the end of each round, the world ends,

and it is ready to enter the new round before.

[On the other hand], in some religions they believe in the linear movement of the world.

It means, the universe has begun at a point and will ends at the other point.

It’s like an individual who is born once, and dies the other time.

The world just ends once.

In Buddhism and Hinduism, they believe in the rotational (or the very circular) motion.

In Zoroastrianism, Judaism, Christianity and Islam they believe in the linear movement.
