The twenty first event was about His Excellency’s emphasize on serving the old fathers:
The man of action, virtuous, perfect scholar, the head of the righteous people, sir “Sayyid Muḥammad MusawÄ« RadhawÄ« NajafÄ«â€, so called “Hindī†who was of the pious scholars and the Imam of congregational Prayer, in AmÄ«r al Mu’menin (pbuh)’s shrine narrated from the truthful scholar, Shaykh BÄqir ibn Shaykh HÄdÄ« KadhimÄ«. He [Shaykh BÄqir] was staying next to Najaf al-Ashraf. Again, he narrated from a truthful individual who was a rubber masseur.
Anyhow, he had an old father whom he did his best in giving service to; so that, he would prepare water for his father in the restroom! Then, he would wait for his father to get out, and be carried to his chair/ bed. He used to care a lot on giving service to him [the father], except on Tuesday nights, when he would go to Sahlah Mosque. But afterward, he left going to the Mosque. And when I asked the reason, he answered, ‘I went there for forty Tuesday nights. But last Tuesday, I didn’t manage to go soon and I reached there before the evening. Yet, I went there alone and it became dark, as I reached there
I was going until a third of the way was left, and it was a moonlit night. Then I saw an Arab man riding a horse toward me. I said to myself that he is going to take everything I had, fast.
When he reached me, he spoke to me in primitive Arabic, and asked me where I was going. I said, ‘Al-Sahla Mosque’. He asked, ‘Is there anything to eat with you?’ I replied, ‘No’, he stated, ‘Put your hand in your pocket’ I returned, ‘There is nothing in it’. He repeated that word sharply.
So I put my hand in my pocket and found some raisins that I had bought for my child. But I forgot to give them to him, so they had been left in my pocket.
Then he stated for three times, ‘I recommend you to (take care of) your old father’. Then he disappeared from my sight. So I knew that he was Mahdī (mgehr),
Moreover, I found out that His Majesty was not satisfied with the separation from my father, even on Wednesday nights. So I didn’t go to the mosque again.
Well, this story was also narrated to me by one of the famous scholars of Najaf Ashraf.
