Two Accounts of the Blessings of Imām Zamān (mGehr)

1. For Sinners

Sayyid Ibn Ṭāwūs relates:

One dawn, while I was in the Holy Cellar in Samarra, I suddenly heard the voice of my Master, Ṣāḥib al-Zamān (mGehr), praying for his Shīʿa:

“O Allah! You created our Shīʿa from the remainder of the soil from which we were created. They have committed many sins, yet they love us and believe in our Wilāyah!

If their sins are related to us, please forgive them, so that we may be pleased with them.

And if their sins concern themselves, then reform their conduct. Save them from the Fire of Hell, and do not gather them with our enemies as a result of Your wrath and displeasure!”

2. The Watch That Turned into Gold

The eminent Shaykh Sir ʿAbd al-Ṣamad Zanjānī relates:

Once, I was in debt to the extent of approximately eighty tūmāns, and I had no means of repaying it. Therefore, I sought intercession, performed a particular devotional act, and engaged in ascetic practices.

That night, I dreamed of Imām Zamān (mGehr). He said to me, “Show me your watch.”

I handed my watch to him. He took it and immediately returned it to me.

When I awoke, however, I felt disappointed. The Imām had merely looked at my watch and returned it without doing anything. I was saddened that I had received no apparent spiritual benefit from seeing him in my dream.

The following morning, I attended a gathering at a friend’s house. When I returned and looked at my watch to check the time, someone exclaimed in amazement, “Where did you get this gold watch?”

I was astonished and replied, “What do you mean? It is made of bronze! I bought it from a man named [name not provided].”

We then summoned the watch seller. When he arrived, he too was astonished and said, “I sold you a bronze watch!”

I could not understand how my watch had become gold. At that moment, I remembered my dream from the previous night and recounted the entire experience to those present. They all concluded that this transformation was a blessing bestowed by Imām Zamān (mGehr), through which the bronze watch had turned into gold.
