Nobody has told me

The secret of joining [Imam Mahdi (hgr)]

They didn’t tell, you stated to Ali ibn Mahziar Ahwazi1 [who was looking forward to meeting you for 20 years],

“The reason you were away from us, was a few sins you used to sin!â€

And also stated:

Being in the absence, is because of evil deeds of you; Shiites! [Some Shiites who don’t behave according to Shia believes].

And if you hadn’t forgotten the honest contract with you Imams (pbu th), the curtains would have fallen. [by curtains it refers to the Imam Mahdi (hgr)’s occultation]

They didn’t tell us, Sayyid Ibn Tawus2, Shaykh al-Mufid3 and Sayyid Muḥammad Mahdī Baḥr al-ʿUlūm4 [who had the honor of meeting you],

I wish they had told us, “Pure eyes†deserve “Pure faceâ€. Not the eyes which look at any one and no one and stare at others’ thrown hair. [deserve meeting you!]

May the rain tears wash those contaminations!

And control the eyes whose duty is to stoop against Na Mahram5

I wish I had known that each sin makes us further and further …and repenting from each sin, is step forward to joining [Imam Mahdi (hgr)]

1- He was an early and prominent Shia religious jurisprudence, narrator and scholar. Mahziar was ninth century scholar and companion of Muhammad al-Jawad, Ali al-Hadi, and Hasan al-Askari, the ninth, tenth, and eleventh of the Twelve Imams (pbu th).

-2 He was a Shiite jurist, theologian and historian. He was a descendant of Hasan ibn Ali through his father and a descendant of Husain ibn Ali through his mother. He met the twelfth Shiite imam, Muhammad al-Mahdi (869-941), who according to Shiites was or is living in occultation.

3-Shaykh al-Mufid was a prominent Twelver Shia theologian. He was the son of Muallim, hence the name Ibn Muallim. The title “al-Mufid” was given to him either by Muhammad al-Mahdi, the twelfth Shia Imam, or by al-Rummani, a Sunni scholar, after a conversation with him. The leader of the Shia community, he was a Mutikallim, theologian, and Shia jurist.

4- He was fully proficient in fiqh, usul al-fiqh, hadith, theology, exegesis of the holy Qur’an and ‘ilm al-rijal. He had repeatedly visited Imam Mahdi (hgr). Not only his contemporary scientists accepted this event, but also later scholars confirmed it.

5- Here “Na Mahram†means “prohibited from having privacy”
