ImÄm MahdÄ« (mgehr) in Qur’Än

Introduction:

Mahdīsm is an Arabic word. It is about the concepts and subjects relating to his Excellency Mahdī (mgehr), including: His Excellency’s Birth, companions, the circumstances before and after the Emergence, etc.

But why to discuss Mahdīsm?

In the Holy Quran, Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 30; it says:

“When your Lord said to the angels: ‘I am placing on the earth a caliph’, they replied: ‘Will You put there who corrupts and sheds blood, when we exalt Your praises and sanctify You? ‘ He said: ‘I know what you do not know ‘.â€

There, angles knew the human’s background well. They were aware of his future, his slaying and oppressing nature.

Moreover, it is beneath the angels’ dignity to object words of the Almighty God. But they asked it to know and to worship God knowingly. They wonder why God created such a weak creature, and how that weak creature would become the God’s caliph on the earth.

Following the above verse, it reads:

“He taught Adam [father of humans] all of the names, and then presented them to the angels [too], saying: ‘Tell Me the names of these, if you are truthful’.†(Holy Quran, Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 31)

Human has both body and spirit. By knowing the preceding names, he is in the right place of humanity.
