This article addresses several common religious questions about ImÄm MahdÄ« (mGehr), including his long lifespan, the reasons for the continuation of the Major Occultation, and the possibility of establishing a universal government. It presents religious and theological explanations concerning these questions and the role of ImÄm MahdÄ« (mGehr) in the future.
There is an astounding narration by ImÄm KÄdhim (pbuh), which is as follows:
If I investigate among my Shiites, I see that they only claim to act! And if I test them, they will turn to commit heresy (disbelief)!
If I purify them, there will be just one pure and honest among one thousands! Also, if I sift the people, just my special ones and family members will be around me!
None of my ancestors were under suspicion [by some of the Shiites], as much as me! (IkmÄl al- DÄ«n, Vol. 1, P. 222)
Similarly, most of the Shiites and the friends of ImÄm HÄdÄ« (pbuh) referred to ImÄm Ḥasan AskarÄ« (pbuh) as an ImÄm, after ImÄm HÄdÄ« (pbuh)’s martyrdom. But, a few people called the other son of ImÄm HÄdÄ« (pbuh), Ja’far ibn AlÄ« “Ja’far Kaddhab [liar]â€, as their ImÄm! Also, another group considered Sayyid Muḥammad who died at the time of ImÄm HÄdÄ« (pbuh), their ImÄm!
If We wish We will send down to them a sign from the sky before which their heads will remain bowed in humility. (SÅ«rat Al- ShuÊ¿arÄ/ Verse 4)
Among AḥÄdÄ«th, there are 9 narrations which agree that the above verse refers to The Divine Call. Five of them are authentic documents. I respectfully draw your attention to this reliable narration:
Several times, the word “Khasf†and its derivations were referred to, in Holy QurʾÄn.  For example: in Surah Al- Qasas, Verse 81 God stated,“Then We caused the earth to swallow him up and his house.â€Also in Surah Al- Nahl, Verse 45, God stated,
Those who fear Allah, are the ones who believe in the Unseen, are the steadfast in prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them.
Of the resemblances between these two noble [Imams], are having been given the titles “Gharīb†[not truly known], “Ṭarīd†[is in Major Occultation] and Sharīd [doesn’t stay in one place].
The pilgrimage of Imam Ḥusayn (pbuh) is recommended on Mid Sha’ban rituals.
[The above sentence] may be a warning to “Absenteeism era people”, [to recall]
اصْبÙرْ عَلَى مَا ÙŠÙŽÙ‚ÙولÙونَ وَاذْكÙرْ عَبْدَنَا دَاوÙودَ ذَا الْأَيْد٠إÙنَّه٠أَوَّابٌ [ص/Û±Û·] Have patience at what they say, and remember our servant David, the […]
…. If they had been apart,We should certainly have punished the Unbelievers among them with a grievous Punishment.
(Holy Qur`an, Surah AL-FATH, verse 25)
This is God’s destiny that [sometimes] disbelievers and hypocrites carry the deposits1of believers in their loins.
Hence Imam Ali (pbuh) didn’t kill their fathers [ancestors], in order for those deposits to be born [afterward].
‘Does God need to know guilty people by their marks, despite the fact that he created them?!’
I asked [again], ‘May I be thy ransomed! What is the meaning of the verse, then?’
 The Imam (pbuh) stated, ‘When Imam Qa`em (mgehr) arises, God gives (grant) him the science of knowing [sinners by] their marks (so he knows them by their complexions and confronts them, then)”
