Abu Dāwood is one of the Sunni scholars and elders.

In the introduction of the book “Sunnah Abu Dāwood” Ibrahim ibn Ishaq Al-Harbi wrote: The knowledge of the hadith for Abu Dāwood was as same as Iron in Prophet David (pbuh)’s hands [means Abu Dāwood was completely fluent in Hadith].

In his book [which is of authentic Sunni books] he quoted:

 

The Holy Prophet (pbuh) stated:

Even if it is the last day in the world,

Certainly God prolongs that day so that he arises a man of my Ahl al-Bayt, whose name is like mine.”

 

Yes, everyone knows that you are of the Prophet (pbuh&h)’s Itrat [household]
