Read [the text], to know Imam Zaman (mgehr)’s logical and interesting answer [to this question].
Sa’ad ibn Abdullah said:
[Once I was at Imam al-Askari (pbuh)’s house]. I asked his son; [Imam] Mahdi (mgehr),
âWhy arenât people permitted to choose their Imam by themselves?â
He stated, âWho do you mean? A righteous or a corrupted Imam”?
I said, âI mean the Imam and leader who is righteous.â
He stated, âYou are not aware of other people’s thoughts!â
It is possible that people choose someone who has the idea of corruption?, isnât it?â
I said, âYes, [it is].â
Then the Imam (mgehr) stated, âThat is the reason. Yet, there are other reasons too. But I explained it in a way that convinces your mind.â
