DajjÄl

DajjÄl -1

DajjÄl literally means “to rub oil on something” or “to turn on something that is internally worthless”.

And it is so- called “a very liar, hypocrite, and deceitful person”.

DajjÄl is mentioned very brief and succinct, in Shia sources and there are just a few narrations about him.

The most detailed narration [about DajjÄl] is in the second volume of the book “KamÄl al-DÄ«n”, pages 525 to 528.

But in Sunni sources, a lot of narrations are mentioned about him; his characteristics, appearance and his massacre.

For example in “á¹¢iḥÄḥ Sittah”, one can find lots of narrations about DajjÄl.

But, most of them are weak in terms of the document and content.

In [the book] “á¹¢aḥīḥ BukhÄrÄ«” it is quoted from ‘Aishah, “I heard the voice of Messenger of Allah, when he would ask refuge in God from the sedition of the DajjÄl’s evil”. (V.8, P.103)

In [the book] “Sunan Ibn MÄjah” it is quoted from the Prophet (pbuh), “DajjÄl has food and alcoholic beverage with himself” (V.2, Narration4073)
