It was 22nd of Bahman, and Imam1 Khomeini has ordered the people to demonstrate in streetsâŚ
[Then,] Ayatollah Taleghani called Imam from his house. They were speaking around an hour and half!
He constantly stated to Imam:
Sir, you have not been in Iran for a while. [Know that,] This regime is vicious.
They have mercy neither on our the young nor on old.  [Please] take your words backâŚ
He constantly spoke about the viciousness of the regime, so that he [Imam] changes his mind âabout the demonstration of people in the streets.
[Then] we saw [suddenly] Ayatollah Taleghani hung up the phone and went toward the corner of the room in a special mood, and there!
âWhat is the matter?â we insisted.
He stated:
Whatever I insisted Imam [take his words back], he didnât.
[But]Â when he saw I wouldnât be convinced, he abruptly stated, âMr. Taleghani! this decree maybe from Imam ZamÄn (mgehr).â As soon as I heard that, my hand trembled! I had nothing to say; just said goodbye.
