They say [the twelve caliphs] are as follows: Abubakr, Umar, UthmÄn, Imam Ali (pbuh), Yazid, Mu’Äwiyah bin Yazid, MarwÄn ibn Hakam, Abd-ol-Malik ibn MarwÄn, Walid ibn Abd-ol-Malik, SolaymÄn ibn Abd-ol-Malik and Umar ibn Abd-ol-Aziz. (‘Awn al-Ma’bud, V.11, P.361)
But there is a question as:
Did YazÄ«d who martyred the Prophet’s very dear grandson [Imam Ḥusayn (pbuh)],
was corrupted and boozer, caused the catastrophe of Harrah [the battle of Harrah], burned the house of God [Ka’ba] by fire catapult,
Deserve to be the successor to the Prophet (pbuh&h), or deserve to make dignity of Islam and the consistency of Muslims?!
The case of MarwÄn, ‘Abd-al-Malik and the others too needn’t to say!
[In this regard], Ibn-Kathir (who is of the Sunni elders) explicitly wrote in his book:
“The narrations that implicitly bring forth the twelve caliphs, refer to the righteous caliphs who bring justice…
One of these twelve caliphs is Imam Mahdi (hgr), whom was given glad tiding for his birth, in different narrations.
