[The Relationship Between] Imam Huṣayn (pbuh) and Ayyamu’llah1…

according to the narrations, there are three days interpreted as “Ayyāmu’llah”: The Emergence, Rajʿa2 and the doomsday. And in all these three days “Yawmu’ll Ḥusayn3″ is the centerpiece.

On the Emergence day, the slogan of Imam Zamān (mgehr)’s troops will be:” Yā la-Thārāt al-Ḥusayn4″

[and keep in mind that] in the time of Rajʿa, the first one who will return to the world is Imam Huṣayn (pbuh).

And on the doomsday, the dwellers of paradise will gather under the flag of Sayyid al-Shuhadā5 [Imam Huṣayn (pbuh)].

Basically, the one who realizes [the battle of Karbala that happened on] ʻĀshūrā with regard to all its greatness and immensity, will be sure that the end of this path will be nothing but to help God. [To pave the path of God]

And definitely, it will end satisfactory. “And the happy end certainly belongs to the pious ones…”

1-     Ayyamu’llah literally means “days of God”, in which very important happening has occurred in these days. This word is mentioned several times in the Quran. As Imam Baqīr (pbuh) stated it refers to days of Emergence, Rajʿa and the doomsday.

2-     1- In Shi’a s’ beliefs, it’s an era that a group of people who have died will return to the Earth shortly after the reappearance of the twelfth Shi’a Imam, al-Mahdī (mgehr). It is a belief particular to the Shi’a Muslims. The Qur’an has mentioned the story of some people who have been resurrected after death. Based on some hadiths, a number of perfect believers, as well as a number of complete infidels, will return to this world. The return of Imam ʿAlī (pbuh) and Imam al-Ḥusayn (pbuh) has been especially emphasized. Since there are Mutawātir Aḥādīth about Rajʿa, it is a certain fact. However, details about Rajʿa are not as certain.

3-     Day of Imam Ḥusayn (pbuh)

4-     The phrase literally means “O the avengers of Ḥusayn”. The avengers of Imam al-Huṣayn (pbuh) are addressed in this phrase who are invited to gather to revenge for his blood. The slogan was first used in the Tawwabun Uprising led by Sulayman b. Surad al-Khuza’i. The slogan was used to indicate the onset of the uprising and to encourage the lovers of Ahl al-Bayt (pbu th). According to some hadiths, this will also be the slogan of Imam al-Mahdi (mgehr), some angels and his companions in Last Era (Akhir al-Zamān).

5-     This is one of the most famous epithet of Imām Huṣayn (pbuh) that means, “the Master of Martyrs”.
