Shaykh ShushtarÄ«’s Encounter with Imam al-Mahdi
This article recounts Shaykh Shushtarī’s reported encounter with a mysterious voice at the grave of MiqdÄd and his later conversation with a spiritual elder concerning the reappearance of Imam al-Mahdi (may God hasten his reappearance). It also explores the account’s reference to the return of Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) and the anticipation of the promised reappearance.
