Paying Attention to Imām Zamān (mgehr)

In a wonderful and pecular way, love, devotion, and getting close to Imām Zamān (mgehr) will make one’s [charastristic].

Once, Someone came to Ayatullah Bahjat (mGmhs) and said, ‘Sir, [Please] give me an advise!’ In reply, he said the same thing that he would state to everyone; the discussion that have been heard, and have been well known.

The man left and came back after some time, asking Ayatollah Bahjat (mGmhs) to give him another piece of advice. But Ayatollah Bahjat told him to act to the previous things! He said, ‘Sir, I have performed all of them’ Ayatollah Bahjat returned, ‘If you want more, you have to go to Jamkaran Mosque.’

You need to invoke [to Imām Zamān (mgehr)], most of it is there, the invocation to Imām Zamān (mgehr), which has different degrees. The lower degrees are general and easy; e.g. to remember His Majesty, at least once a week, pay attention to Imām Zamān (mgehr), or pray for His Majesty during the week. We are expected not to pass a day, without praying [for His Majesty].

We can read Duʿāʾ al-Faraj at least once a day, or we can remember His Majesty when going to the pilgrimage, these are the least. Sometimes a bit of attention to Imām Zamān (mgehr) has wonderful blessings.

Khwāja Aba Ṣalt al-Hirawī was the only one who was aware of the martyrdom of Imām Rīḍa (pbuh). Maʾmūn ordered not to let him go free; as he knew about the martyrdom story and would inform the others. ‘Arrest him and send him to jail’ ordered Maʾmūn.

Khwāja Aba Ṣalt was in the prison for a year and a half. Finally, his heart broke For a moment and he invoked to Imām al-Jawād (pbuh) in his heart and beseeched, ‘Oh, Sir! I’ve been in jail for a year and a half. I am far from my family here; I am far from everyone. He had seen Imām al-Jawād (pbuh) in the last moments.

He said, ‘Oh you! the gentleman who appeared [after the martyrdom of Imām Rīḍa (pbuh)], and was the next Imām after Imām Rīḍa (pbuh). Please come to help’ Once he said that, he saw His Majesty behind his cell door. His Majesty stated, ‘Let’s go’. He said, ‘Sir, I’ve been here for a year and a half; you just remember me now?!’

His Majesty stated, ‘You have been here for a year and a half. Do you just remember us now?!’ It means, if you had remembered us from ealier than this, you would have been saved [by now].

His Majesty stated, ‘Now, where do you want to go? Do you want to go back to the palace? Or you want to go to your wife and children?’ He replied, ‘Sir, I want to go to my wife and children’ He said that His Majesty made him cross the path in the guards’ presence.
