One of elders in Mashhad quoted from one of his friends as saying:
We were in the presence of Imam Khomeini in Najaf, and it came to Iran.
I asked, “What is your order of removing the Shah [Muḥammad-RÄ«á¸a Shah Pahlavi] from Iran?!
It is not possible to expel a tenant, then you want to expel the Shah?!â€
Imam remained silent. I thought perhaps he didn’t hear my words, so I repeated again…
He wondered “What are you saying? If his majesty Baqīyatullah; Imam Mahdī (mgehr) tells me wrong (wig) 1 when he said, ‘The Shah must leave!’
1-Â Â Â It refers to sake refuge to God.
