That will gather around them, You are to watch from a distance to see a slaver who is named Amroo ibn Yazīd, for the entire day. Then, he will introduce a bondwoman with the following characters.’ Then the Excellency started to explain her like this: She is wearing a full covering silk dress, and also she would not let the customers look at or touch her.
Then you will hear a Roman whine coming through her cover. Mind, she will say in Roman, “Woe, I lost my chastity”[ She connoted being in a public like that].
There, one of the customers will say: “I will pay three hundred AshrafÄ« for that bondwoman;  her chastity motivated me to buy her”,
But the bondwoman will react in Arabic: “Even if you appear in the Prophet Solomon (pbuh)’s costume and attain his kingdom, I will not be inclined to in you! So don’t waste your money on buying me!
Afterwards the slaver will say, “Oh, what should I do with you! You don’t like any customer, so there is no way to sell you!”
Then the bondwoman will say, “Why are you so much in hurry? Of course, there should be a customer whom I can rely on his faith and piety”
Then, go to the slaver and tell, ‘There is a letter with me, which was written affectionately by one of the dignified and honorable. He wrote it in Latin words and handwriting.
In the letter, he has described his own benefaction, benevolence, faithfulness and honorability.’
Give this letter to the bondwoman/slave girl. After reading, if she agrees with what the writer wrote, you will buy this slave girl for the that honorable man [me].
Bushr ibn SulaymÄn said:
The thing His Excellency predicted, happened. Well, I did whatever he stated to me.
Anyhow, when the bondwoman looked at the letter, he cried a lot. She asked ʿAmroo ibn Yazīd, ‘Sell me to the owner of this letter.’ She adjured him a lot and pleaded, ‘If you don’t sell me to him, I will kill myself!’
There I talked with the man about the price, so much that finally he agreed with the price that His Excellency ImÄm Ê¿AlÄ« al- NaqÄ« had given to me in gold.
Then, I gave him the gold and took the slave girl with me. The bondwoman got happy and cheerful and came with me to the camarilla, I rented in BagdÄd.
During the way, she was taking the ImÄm’s letter out, kissing, holding it on her eyes, keeping tight on her face and hugging it.
There I asked her in wondered, ‘Are you kissing the letter, whose writer you don’t know!
The bondwoman said, ‘O, poor, ignorant person! By the dignity of the prophets’ and their successors’ children, harken to me! I am going to tell you my story.
