Sufyani2sends an army to Kūfah; the numbers of them are seventy thousand!
[He sends them] to kill kufain and captivate them!!
At these moments, some people get themselves fast to kufa from Khorasan; having flags in their hands. Among whom are Imam Mahdi (hgr)’s true companions …
Sufyani sends an army to Madina!
After Madina, following Imam Mahdi (hgr) they go to Mecca! [There] Sufyani `s Commander of army grounds in a desert
Suddenly a call comes from the sky,
“O, dry and scorching desert! Perish this violator army!]
And then, Earth swallows them…
The following verse is about them:
️ يا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتابَ آمِنُوا بِما نَزَّلْنا مُصَدِّقاً لِما مَعَكُمْ مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ نَطْمِسَ وُجُوهاً فَنَرُدَّها عَلى أَدْبارِها… [نساء/۴۷]
“O ye People of the Book! Believe in what We have (now) revealed, confirming what was (already) with you, before we change the face and fame of some (of you) beyond all recognition, and turn them hindwards, ..(The holy Qur’an, Surah An-Nisa, Verse 47)”

1- It is an incident in which the Earth will swallow the land, al-Bayda’, that is, the collapse and defeat of the army of Sufyani in the land of al-Bayda’, a desert between Mecca and Medina. In some hadiths, this incident is regarded as a decisive sign of the uprising of Imam al-Mahdi (hgr). This incident is supposed to occur after the Reappearance and before the uprising of Imam al-Mahdi (hgr).
2- He is an apocryphal character of Islamic eschatology. The term Sufyani refers to his descent from the progeny of Abu Sufyan. According to hadiths, he will be the rival and opponent of Imam Mahdi (hgr).
