Religious and social effects of belief in Mahdism

The discussion of Mahdism is one of the most important features of Shiite. Yah! the belief in the Living ImÄm gives a sort of feeling, and creates a special look in those, who believe in the issue, that hasn’t been existed in other religions, groups, sects, and creeds.

In Christianity, Judaism, Shia, Sunni, let’s say even in Indian religions, in ancient Egypt, in Greece, all these, when you look back, you can see a belief in a savior or someone who will one day save the world. whole of them, are the results of the activities of one hundred and twenty-four thousand prophets (pbu th).

Many of these tribes are even genetically involved in the issue. The point to pass a deadlock, is to make men never stagnant. That is, whenever an individual is about to be caught in difficulties, but meanwhile they feel there is an inspiring/ a promising one, a savior who is a lifesaver!

This has been the case throughout history. There was a time when they wanted to build a wall, they would put the body of Shiites between it! But the only thing that could keep them alive and dynamic, was to believe that there will be a deliverance day, and there is someone who protects us, someone who supports us.

the red and green wings which have been talked about many times, by such and such people are originated from Fukuyama’s words. He referred to the point that, Shias are like birds; they’ve a green wing and a red wing. Yah! the red wing is [the symbol of] Aba AbdullÄh (pbuh)’s martyrdom, and the green one is [the symbol of] looking forward to the Emergence.

The past gives us an identity; the future gives us a goal. The one who has Huṣayni self- esteem, doesn’t let anyone oppress them! Furthermore, their Mahdavi future has provided them with the conditions, that they never are stuck in any deadlock!

From sociological point of view, belief in Mahdavīiat is not limited to the special realm. It goes beyond the realm of an abstract vision or belief, and leads to the realm of a behavior, an individual behavior, and especially a social behavior.

Its effects of objective manifestations on society, are of three types:

a)    The Religious social

b)    Educational social

c)    Political social
