Every night, my Jamkarani’s1 heart is [like] your orphan. [I miss youâImam Mahdi (hgr)â like an orphan who misses his/ her father!]
Come, my darling. I’m at the end of rope!
I asked the winds your address.
It has been ages, I beseechingly searched for your address. [by address they mean; meeting the imam]
My youth passed, but I haven’t meet your countenance. [Here it refers to the Imamâs holy face].
I’m ashamed of my youth, as having had such a [unsatisfactory] life!
Let me know, wherever you set up the tent.
Tell me, why do you let me be miserable? [Iâm miserable without you]
Although tears have clogged your throat, in this decade. [The first decade of MuḼarram].2
Call me with your nice heavenly voice, one night.
You are more likely to be present at [Imam Ḥusayn (pbuh)âs] ritual.
Maybe you call me, because of commemoration of your Uncle. [Since you love you uncle ‘AbbÄs].
I have been both, old with agony; because your Zaynab [Imam Ḥusaynâs sister]âs spines got curved of that great suffering, 3
and, mournful; because of those rattan- stricken lips. [When they brought Imam Ḥusaynâs head for Yazid I, and he stroke them.]
These days [the first decade], you understand me!
Calm down my stormy heart [and itâs like a volcano], with your hands.
It’s not good for your beggar [me] to be homeless.
[Please] agree that, I’m one of Sahib al-Zaman [Imam Mahdi (hgr)]’s servants.
Dear Sir! [Imam Mahdi (hgr)]
It’s not your fault,
if I can’t see your picture.
I’m [like] a mirror, covered with dust.
