Fourth is the sinking of Sufyānī army in Bayda (which was mentioned before)
Fifth is murder of Nafs al- Zakiyyah[1]
He is the very son of Ale Muḥammad (pbuh&h) who will be killed somewhere between Rukn and Maqām[2]
Sixth is the rising of Sayyid al- Ḥasanī
He is a good looking young man who will rise from Daylam and Qazvin. He will call out, “Help Ale Muḥammad (pbuh&h) [Mahdī], he needs your help!” Sayyid al- Ḥasanī is of Imām Ḥasan Mujtabā (pbuh)’s offspring
He will neither invite the people to the Wrong or to his own! But, he is of the pure Shiites of 12 infallible Imāms (pbu th). He will obey the True Religion [Islam] and will not claim to be the deputy, or [to be] Sahib al Zamān (mGehr)!
Nevertheless, he will be the great and as a leader, and people will obey him. His words and actions will accord with the Pure Religion of The Last Prophet [Muḥammad (pbuh&h)].
At the time of his rise, disbelief and oppression will engulf the world. And people will suffer from the oppressors and the wicked, and a crowd of the believers will be able to repel oppression.
Meanwhile, Sayyid Al- Ḥasanī will call for the support of the religion of Ale Muḥammad (pbu th). Then the people, especially the brave, strong- heart, armed, and well-equipped men (the Treasures in Taleqan; but not made of gold or silver[3] ) who will be riding on horses of pinto horses, gather around him. And the number of them will increase.
He will rule and behave among them like a judge-king. He will gradually overcome the people of oppression and rebellion. And he will cleanse the earth from the filth of the oppressors and disbelievers, from the place he rises to Kūfa.
As he enters Kūfa along with his companions, he will be informed that the Excellency Hujjat Allah “Mahdī of Ale Muḥammad (mGehr)” has emerged and moved from Medina to Kūfa! Therefore, Sayyid Al Ḥasanī and his companions will enter the Excellency’s service. They will demand the proofs of the Imamate and the inheritance of the prophets (pbu th) [for making the people certain of the Emergence of Imām Mahdī (mGehr)].
[In this regard,] His Excellency Ṣādiq (pbuh) stated:
I swear to God that the young man will recognize the Excellency and know that he is right! But, he means to reveal the Excellency’s truth to people and his own companions. So, the Excellency will show proofs of the Imamate and the inheritance of the prophets (pbu th).
There, Sayyid Al Ḥasanī and his companions will pledge allegiance to the Excellency, except a few of them. There will be four thousand people of the Zaydiyyah sect [Zaydism], who have their Mushaf[4] and Qurˈan wrapped/around their necks.
This group will attribute those signs and wonders to magic! They will wonder, “These are incredible words that belong to magic!” However, the Excellency Hujjat (mGehr)’s preaches, advises and even miracles won’t have any effect on them!!
Therefore, the Excellency will give them three days’ respite. As they won’t accept advice and the truth, he will order them to behead them, after that. Well, their condition is very similar to that of the Khawārij in the Battle of Nahrawān[5]!
Seventh is the appearance of a palm which will rise in the sky. Based on another narration, a face, chest, and palm will appear, close to the sunrise location.
Eight is the eclipse of sun in the middle of Ramadhan, and the lunar eclipse on the last day of Rajab.
Ninth refers to the proofs and signs that appear in Rajab.
Shaykh Ṣadūq narrated from His Excellency Imām Riḍā (pbuh), that he stated:
It’s inevitable for Shiites to face a great tribulation! It will be during Occultation of their Imām, when all creatures in heavens and earth cry for him! As his emergence is about to happen, there will be three calls in Rajab which are so loud that all creatures will hear them!
The first call is:
اَلا لَعْنَةُ اللّهِ عَلَى الظّالِمین
… Now surely the curse of Allah is on the unjust. (Surah Hūd, Verse 18)
The second call is
ازفت الا زفة
The near event draws nigh. (Surah Al- Najm, Verse 57)
It refers to approximation of an event which is going to happen day after day!
The third call is heard when a body appears against the sun. Then, a caller will call, “Here is Amīr al Muʾminīn (pbuh) who is just returning to the world, in order to destroy the oppressors! And this is the very salvation of believers.
The tenth is the dispute that will arise among Bani Abbās and it leads to their destruction. [This event happened many years ago and] it was referred to in some narrations. Accordingly, a dispute arises among the Abbasids ,they will be destroyed before His Excellency Qa’im (mGehr)’s rise, by the one/ ones from Khorāsān.
Uncertain Signs
As for Uncertain Signs, there are a lot of which, some have happened and some not yet. Here, we mention some of them in brief:
First– destruction of the wall of Kūfa Mosque.
Second– flowing a branch of Euphrates in Kūfa lanes…
Third is the rebuilding of Kūfa, after its destruction.
Forth is, flowing water from Sea of Al- Najaf.
Fifth is, flowing a river from the Euphrates towards a crack in the ground of Najaf Ashraf.
Sixth is, the appearance of a comet near the star of Capricorn.
Seventh is, the occurrence of a sever famine before His Excellency’s Emergence.
Eight is, the occurrence of an earthquake and a sever plague in a lot of countries.
Ninth is, “Incessant killing” that is, killing several people which doesn’t stop.
Tenth is, the interpretation of the Qurˈan, the decorating of mosques, and the lengthening of minarets.
Eleventh is, the destruction of Buratha mosque.
Twelfth is, the appearance of a fire in the east of the Earth that will burn till three or seven days, somewhere between the earth and sky. [This will be in a way that,] the sky will be lit which causes wonder and fear.
Thirteenth is, the appearance of intense redness that spreads around the sky, covering the entire sky.
Fourteenth is, there will be a lot of killing and bloodshed in Kūfa by various flags [various countries or religions].
Fifteenth is, the transformation of a tribe into apes and pigs.
Sixteenth is, the raising of black flags from Khorāsān.
Seventeenth is, raining heavily in the months “Jumada al-Thānī” and “Rajab” the like of which has never been seen.
Eighteenth is, [some] Arabs will be unruly/ broken free.
Nineteenth is, rising Non-Arab [mostly Iranian] kings who will have high states and dignity.
Twentieth is, rising of a star from the East which is brilliant and illuminating like the moon. Its shape will be like the crescent moon; with its two sides crooked, so that they are almost connected by a crookedness! It will be with such brilliance that dazzles the eyes.
Twenty first is that, the darkness of disbelief, corruption, and sins will engulf the entire world. Perhaps this sign means, the prevalence of disbelief, corruption, immorality, and oppression in the world. So, these matters will spread throughout the land!
Furthermore, the majority of people tend to follow the ways and states of the disbelievers and polytheists in their speech, actions, lifestyle, and worldly situations. And they will resemble them in their behaviors, residences, poverty, and clothing!
On the contrary, they will weak and lax in their religions and religious principles/matters. They also lack the adherence to the customs of religious matters; especially in that time when people will be intensely and increasingly imitating the disbelievers in all worldly aspects. In addition, they will in adopting the rules of disbelief and acting on them in superficial matters!
There are many who believe and rely completely on their [those bad ones’] words and actions and have complete trust in them in all matters. Many a time, they will follow several beliefs in a way that, they will wholly lose the roots of Islam doctrine. Mind that, they will teach babies their [the bad ones’] custodies and principles.
as in the present time, the parents don’t let their newly born children, deeply realize the ethics and principles of the Religion of Islām! Therefore, most of the children’s faith will be corrupted after puberty, and they won’t obey the Religion of Islām!
Well, they will keep on such a style of life. The same will happen to the ones who have relationship with them, and also it happens to their households! In this way, if you ponder deeply, you will see disbelief has overcome the whole world!
On the other side, there is few and limited worshippers of God who commonly are people of weak faith, and their knowledge of Islam is incomplete. That is, most of populated countries are ruled by disbelievers, polytheists and hypocrites. And their habitants are generally are disbelievers and hypocrites; except the rare Twelver Shi’as!
Due to believing in Islamic and religious principles, they [Twelver Shi’as] are so scattered and distracted, Religious beliefs and principles, that True believers are scarce and few among them!
Furthermore, many of the believers, whether Shiˈa or Sunna, have so oppressed their identities that lost their place of faith because of committing abominable deeds, heinous and forbidden acts, from all kinds of sins and taboos, and all kinds of prohibitions, oppression and encroachment, each one of them oppresses the other in religious and worldly matters, they commit such injustice upon themselves.
As a result, just a name has remained for them which lost its originality, except for a name that is not a proper name, or a custom that is contrary to the effects of the Sharia.
Therefore, there will not remain on the earth any trace of the religion but a few, who will be defeated and scattered! Yet, they will not succeed in spreading the religion.
Also, enjoining good will frequently seem bad, but encouraging bad behaviors will seem good! And nothing remains of the religion, except for its name and outward customs! It’s as if, the path of Amīr al Muʾminīn (pbuh) and satisfactory nature of pure Imāms (pbu th) have disappeared for ever. Or God forbid, it seems the religion would have been wholly eradicated!
This applies to everyone that, what was mentioned above is increasing and intensifying day by day.
Hence, as the Messenger of God (pbuh&h) informed, “Islam was at first strange [to the people] and it will be strange, afterward.” Well, it will clearly happen in that time. Then, the world will not only seem to be filled with oppression and injustice, but also it definitely will be so!
In sum, these few believing servants of Allah should constantly pray day and night; through supplication and supplication, that The Allah Almighty may hasten the Emergence of Ale Muḥammad [Imām Mahdī (mGehr)].
The sings of the Last Era from Amīr al Muʾminīn (pbuh)’s perspective
They quoted from some of Amīr al Muʾminīn (pbuh)’s sermons that he stated: …
اِذا صـاحَ النـّاقـُوسُ وَ كـَبـَسَ الْكابُوسُ وَ تَكَلَّمَ الْجامُوسُ فَعِنْدَ ذلِكَ عَجائِبُ وَ اَىُّ عـَجـائب اَنارَ النّارُ بِنَصیبَیْنِ وَ
ظَھَرَت رايَةٌ عُثْمانِیَّةٌ بِوادٍ سُودٍ وَاضْطَرَبَتِ الْبَصْرَةُ وَ غـَلَبَ بـَعـْضـُھُمْ بَعْضَا وَ صَبا كُلُّ قَوْمٍ اِلى قَوْمٍ اِلى اَنْ قالَ
علیه السلام وَ اَذْعَنَ ھِرْقِلُ بِقُسْطَنْطَنِیَّةِ لِبَطارِقَةِ سُفْیانى فَعِنْدَ ذلِكَ تَوَقَّعُوا ظُھُورَ مُتَكَلِّمِ مُوسى مِنَ الشَّجَرَةِ
عَلى طُور
When the bell rings, the nightmare and the buffalo speak, then there are wonders, and what wonders! The fire will burn in two parts, and the Ottoman flag will appear in the Black Valley, and Baṣra will be disturbed, and some will overcome others, and all the people will fight against one another until the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, and Heraclius in Constantinople will listen to the Sufyānī patriarchs. Then expect the appearance of the speaker of Moses from the tree on the Tur.
([Mind that by Cow] perhaps the Imām referred to a robust person who is famous, but foolish as a cow. He will rule then! Also by the Black Valley or Land, he may refer to Sudan. And finally by Sufyānī’s patriarchs, he referred to Batariqah [Roman generals]
In addition about the signs of His Excellency Qa’im (mGehr)’s emergence, the Imām stated some pearls of wisdom. Those are as follows:
اِذا اَمـاتَ النـّاسُ الصَّلاةَ وَ اَضـاعـُوا الاَمانَةَ وَاسْتَحَلُّوا الْكِذْبَ وَ اَكَلُوا الرِّبا وَ اَخَذُوا الرِّشـا وَ شـَیِّدوُا الْبـُنـْیـان وَ
بـاعـُوا الدّيـنَ بـِالدُّنْیا وَ اسْتَعْمَلوا السُّفَھاءَ وَ شاوَرُوا النِّسـاء وَ قـَطـَعـُوا الاَرْحـامَ وَ اتَّبَعُوا الاَھْواءَ وَ اسْتَخَفُّوا
بِالدِّماءِ وَ كانَ الْحِلْمُ ضَعْفا وَ الظُّلْمُ فـَخـْرَا وَ كـانـَتِ الاُمَراءُ فَجَرَةً وَ الْوُزَراءُ ظَلَمَةً وَ الْعُرَفاءُ خَوَنَةً وَ الْقُرّاءُ فَسَقَةً وَ
ظـَھـَرَتْ شـَھـاداُت الزُّورِ وَاسْتَعْلَنَ الْفُجُورُ وَ قَوْلُ الْبُھْتاِن وَ الاِثْمُ وَ الطُّغْیا نُ وَ حُلِّیتِ الْمـَصا حِفُ وَ زُخْرِفَتِ
الْمَساجِدُ وَ طَوِّلَتِ الْمَنائِرُ وَ اُكْرِمَ الاَشْرارُ وَ ازْدَحَمَتِ الصُّفُوفُ وَ اخـْتـَلَفـَتِ الاَھـْواءُ وَ نـُقـِضَتِ الْعُقُودُ وَ اقْتَرَبَ
الْمَوْعُودُ وَ شارَكَ اَزْواجِھُنَّ فِى التِّجارَةِ حـِرْصـا عـَلَى الدُّنْیا وَ عَلَتْ اَصْواتُ الفُسّاقِ وَ اسْتُمِعَ مِنْھُمْ وَ كانَ زَعیمُ
الْقَوْمِ اَرْذَلُھُمْ وَ اتُّقـِىَ الْفـاجـِرُ مـخـافـَةَ شـَرِّهِ وَ صـُدِّقَ الْكـاذِبُ وَ ائْتـُمـِنَ الْخـائِنُ وَ التُّخِذَتِ الْقِیّانُ وَ الْمـَغـازِفُ وَ
لَعـَنَ آخـِرُ ھـذِهِ الاُمَّةِ اَوَّلَھـا وَ رَكـِبَ ذَواتِ الْفـُرُوجِ السُّرُوجِ وَ تـَشَبَّهُ النِّساءَ بـِالرِّجـالِ وَ الرِّجـالَ بـِالنِّسـاءِ وَ
شـَھِدَ الشّاھِدَ مِنَْغْیِر اَنْ يَسْتَشْھَدَ وَ شَھِدَ الاِخرُ قَضاءُ لِذِمـامٍ بـِغـَیـْرِ حَقٍّ عَرَفَهُ وَ تَفَقَّهَ لِغَیْرِ الدّينِ وَ اثَروُا عَمَلَ
الدُّنیا عَلى الا خِرَةِ وَ لَبِسُوا جُلُودَ الْضَّاءنِ عَلى قُلُوبِ الذِّئابِ وَ قُلُوبُھُمْ اءَنْتَنُ مِنَ الْجَیْفِ وَ اَمَرُّ مِنَ الصَّبْرِ فَعِنْدَ
ذلِكَ اَلْوَحـا اَلْوَحـا الْعـَجـَلَ الْعـَجـَلَ خـَیـْرُ الْمـَسـاكِنِ يَوْمَئِذٍ بَیْتُالْمُقَدَّسِ لَیَاءْتِیَنَّ عَلَى النّاسِ زَمانٌ يَتَمَنّى اَحَدُھُمْ
اَنَّهُ مِنْ سُكّانِهِ
[It’s when,] people neglect prayer, abandon trust, deem lying permissible, consume usury, accept bribes, construct elaborate buildings, sell their religion for worldly gain, employ fools, consult women] [for everything, sever family ties, follow their desires, and take blood lightly; when forbearance is considered weakness and injustice a source of pride; when rulers are wicked and ministers are oppressors. The scholars are traitors, and the reciters are wicked, and false testimonies have become widespread, and immorality has become public, and slander, sin, and tyranny have become rampant, and the Qur’ans have been embellished, and the mosques have been decorated, and the minarets have been lengthened, and the wicked have been honored, and the rows have become crowded, and desires have differed, and contracts have been broken, and the promised time has drawn near, and their husbands have taken part in trade. Out of greed for worldly things, the voices of the wicked rose and were listened to, and the leader of the people was the most despicable among them. The wicked were feared for their evil, the liar was believed, the traitor was trusted, and female singers and entertainers were taken up.
The latter generations of this nation cursed the former, and women rode saddles, and women imitated men. Men with women, and the witness testified without being asked to testify, and the other testified to a debt without a right he knew, and he studied jurisprudence for other than religion, and they preferred the work of this world over the Hereafter, and they wore sheepskins over the hearts of wolves, and their hearts are more putrid than carrion and more bitter than patience. So at that time, hasten, hasten, hasten is better. The dwellings in the Holy House will be inhabited in that day. A time will surely come upon people when one of them will wish he were among its inhabitants.
1-Imām Ṣādiq (pbuh) stated:
For Imam Qa’im (mGehr) in Taleqan, there is a treasure that is neither gold nor silver, and a flag that has not yet been unfurled, and men who have hearts of iron and no doubt about God. They are harder than a rock, and if they attack a mountain, they will move it from its place.

1_ Al-Nafs al-Zakiyyah is the title of a person called Muḥammad b. al-Ḥasan. He is called “al-Nafs al-Zakiyyah” (the Pure Soul) in hadiths because of his asceticism and worship. He is from the progeny of Imām al-Huṣayn (pbuh), and is thus a Huṣayinī Sayyid and his name is Muḥammad b. Ḥasan.
2_ To understand the meaning of the expression, you need read the following text:
About Maqām: Allah says: “Appoint for yourselves a place for prayer on the standing place of Ibrahim. “ It is enough to note that the preference of this place is symbolized by bearing the name of this great Prophet. His rank is one of the most perfect due to the fact that he spent the whole of his life, his family’s and the whole of his wealth for the sake of Tawhid and keeping firm Allah’s signs by building the Ka’ba at the center of His House.
About Rukn: The place opposite the Black stone behind the House is the one is called al‑Rukn al‑Aimani (the right‑hand side corner). There are many traditions that have been narrated in preference of this place to an extent that perplexes and boggles the mind. The Holy Prophet said: “Whenever I come to at this point I find that Jibra’il (Gabriel) is already there before me.
Imām Ja’far (pbuh) stated, “The Rukn al‑Aimana is our gate to paradise.”

5_ Battle of Nahrawān was among the battles during the caliphate of Imām Alī (pbuh) which happened after the Battle of Siffin and following the event of Hakamiyya [arbitration] in Safar of 38/658. On one side of the battle was a group of people known as Mariqun or Khawārij. In this battle, Khawārij were defeated by the army of Imām Alī (pbuh). It is said that less than ten soldiers from Khawārij could run away unharmed. Among them was ‘Abd al-Raḥmān b. Muljam al-Murādi, the murderer of Imām Alī (pbuh), etc.
