Imām Zamān (mGehr)’s duties, while he is unknown to the people

Imām Zamān (mGehr)’s duties while he is unknown are of two types, based on Sayyid Muḥammad Ṣadr:

1-    Protecting his Shiites and friends and observing their social relations with other people. Also, he observes them, since they are supposed to teach Islam taught as well as possible, and implement Islamic laws.

2-    Aiding the miserable and distressed. In this relation, there are many reports of visiting the Excellency by some people in the Major Occultation era which prove these two points; as these activities don’t contradict the Imām’s goal and being in occultation.

Behaving as an ordinary individual not only doesn’t reject the presence of the Imām but also can be a reason for his presence. These behaviors are usual for the Excellency; not being in contrast with his occultation or hidden identity. Therefore like every Muslim, he must step for every activity that is good/needed for Islam. Yes, the Excellency is higher than everyone in obeying Islamic laws.

Anyhow, we cannot even imagine, what would have happened, if the Imām had done us the favor and withdrew those activities!!… (Ṣadr (2004), pp.49- 50)
