An immediate recovery by ImÄm ZamÄn (mgehr)

The ninth is, the story of AbÅ«-Rajeh-e ḤamÄmÄ«. Al-Ê¿AllÄma al-MajlisÄ« (May God have mercy on him) in his book, “BiḥÄr [al-AnwÄr]â€, has narrated from the book “Al-Sulá¹Än al-Mafraj an Ahl-e al-ImÄnâ€, by the prefect [Muslim] scholar Sayyid AlÄ« bin ‘Abd al- ḤÄmid NilÄ«. He narrated:

The story of AbÅ«-Rajeh-e ḤamÄmÄ« who was living Ḥillah, has become famous in the provinces and has been spread among the people of that time.

Verily, a group of nobles, like honest groups of scholars have mentioned that story, including pious, devoted, and researcher Shaykh, Shams al-DÄ«n Muḥammad ibn QÄrÅ«n (May the Almighty God give him peace) that he stated, ‘There was a ruler in Ḥillah who they called him ‘Marjan Saghir’, and he was a NÄá¹£ibÄ«. [Once]They told him that AbÅ«-Rajeh always curses á¹¢aḥÄba.

So that wicked [ruler] ordered to bring him to his present. When he was taken there, the ruler ordered them to beat him. And they beat him so much that he was about to die. They beat him all over his body, even his face so hard that he lost his teeth. They pulled out his tongue and tied it to an iron chain. After that, they pierced his nose and inserted a strand of hair into his nostrils; and then, tied that strand of hair to a string and gave the other end of the string to their followers.

He [the ruler] ordered them to carry and beat him around the lanes of Ḥillah, in the same condition of wound and status. Well, those wicked ones took him and beat him so badly that he fell on the ground and was about to die! Then, they informed that damned ruler, and that malicious one commanded them to kill him.

The audiences protested, ‘He is an old man and he is so much wounded that will lead him to death. You don’t need to kill him! Don’t have his blood on your hand! Yet, they insisted on interceding so much that, he [the ruler] ordered them to leave him!

His face and tongue were very damaged and swollen; therefore, his household took him home, while they knew that he would die the very night.

But [astoundingly], when in the morning the people went there, they saw he was spraying, he was sound, his teeth were as before, his wounds were healed and there was no sign that damage on his face! So, the people got shocked and asked him about the event.

He replied, ‘I was in a situation where I saw death ahead of me. I didn’t even have a sound tongue to beg God [for something]! Hence, I begged for and appealed to god. And I requested my MawlÄ, His Excellency SÄhib al ZamÄn (mgehr) to get to my help. Then on that dark night, I saw the house lit up. Suddenly, I visited His Excellency SÄhib al Amr1 [ImÄm ZamÄn (mgehr)]

So, the damned ruler felt a great horror. Before that, he used to turn his back on The Excellency (mGehr)’s MaqÄm [site] in Ḥillah; his nasty back was toward Qiblah and The Excellency’s MaqÄm. Yet after that, his face would be toward the ImÄm’s MaqÄm, and was kind and tolerant to the people of Ḥillah. After a short while, that malicious one died and wasn’t affected by that obvious miracle!
