The events close to the emergence [of Imam Mahdi (hgr)] in Quran

لَنَبْلُوَنَّکُمْ بِشَیْ‏ءٍ مِنَ الْخَوْفِ وَ الْجُوعِ وَ نَقْصٍ مِنَ الْأَمْوالِ وَ الْأَنْفُسِ وَ الثَّمَراتِ وَ بَشِّرِ الصَّابِرینَ [بقره/۱۵۵]
Translation:

 

We will surely test you with a measure of fear, hunger and a loss of wealth, lives, and fruits; and give good tiding to the patient. ( holy Quran, Sure Al-Baqarah, Verse 155)
Abu Basir narrated, “Imam Sadiq (pbuh) stated:
Inevitably, there should be a year before coming of Qa’em (hgr) [it’s one of Imam Mahdi’s title that means he arises for truth] in which people will suffer from hunger.
And they will intensely fear from murder, loss of wealth, lives, and products, that is very clear in God`s book (The Holy Quran)

And then Imam Sadiq (pbuh) read the above verse (Al-Baqarah, Verse 155)”.
