The meeting of the representative of Mufavaze[1] with ImÄm ZamÄn (mgher)

The tenth, MasÊ¿Å«dÄ« , Shaykh Tusi, and others have narrated from AbÅ« NuÊ¿aym Muhammad ibn AhmÄd Ä€nsÄri, that he said, ‘A group of Mufavaze and Magh’sarah[2] had sent KÄmel ibn Ä«brahÄ«m MadanÄ« to Samarra, in order to debate His Majesty AbÅ« Muḥammad (pbuh) about their matters. KÄmel said, ‘I said to myself that, ‘I will ask His Majesty that, no one will enter the heaven unless his knowledge is like me and believe in what I say’.

When I went to the service of my Sayyid, Abū Muḥammad (pbuh), I took a look at his soft, white cloths and said to my self that, [How come] Walīy [the Friend] of God and his Ḥojjat[3] wear soft cloths, but orders us to help our brothers, and forbids us to wear such clothes.

Meanwhile, he stated in a smile, ‘O’ KÄmel!’. Then he raised his arm and I saw a rough, black rag that he wore on his blessed skin. Then he stated, ‘That (the rough, black rag) is for God, and this (the soft, white cloths) is for you’. I became ashamed, so I sat next to a door where a curtain was installed on it. At that time, a breeze blew and pulled a part of the curtain aside. There, I saw a young man who looked like a part of the moon. He seemed four years old or something like that.

Then he stated to me, ‘O’ KÄmel Ä«bn ĪbrahÄ«m!’. I started trembling, then I was inspired to reply, ‘Yes, my lord!’. He stated, ‘You have come to the service of WalÄ«y [the Friend] of God and his Ḥojjat, and you are willing to ask that, no individual will enter the heaven, unless he is learned by the knowledge, like you, and believe in sayings of you.

I wondered, ‘Yes, I swear to God!’. He stated, ‘By God that if it were so, just a few would enter heaven. Verily, lots of people will enter heaven’.

A group of people that are called Ḥaqqiyyah’. Then I asked, ‘O my Sayyid! Who are them?’ He (mgehr) replied, ‘A community that their friendship with Amir al Mumenin (pbuh) is so much that, they swear by his right and do not know what is his precedence’. Then he paused for a while then continued, ‘And you came to ask that sir, regarding the Mufawwaá¸ah category; they lied, rather our hearts are place of Allah’s will. It is as if, when Allah wills something, we will it as well! And Allah (swt) stayes, ‘But you will not wish unless it is willed by Allah’’.

Then the curtain returned to its previous state, and I had no power to pull it back! Afterward His Majesty Abu Muhammad (pbuh) looked at me and smiled, ‘O KÄ mil Ibn IbrÄhÄ«m! Why are you still sitting here whiles Mahdi, the authority [of Allah on people] after me, informed you of your inner queries that you had came to ask’. He [KÄmil] said, ‘I stood up and received the answer of what I had hiddenned in my heart from Imam Mahdi (mgehr). After that I have never visit that sir’.

Abu Na’īm said, ‘I visited KÄmil and asked him about this narration. He told me the very story without a word less or more’.

The eleventh is, the Muḥaddith and FaqÄ«h, Shaykh Ê¿ImÄd al-DÄ«n AbÅ« Ja’far ibn Muḥammad b. Ê¿AlÄ« ibn Muḥammad al-ṬūsÄ« Mashhadi, Ma’aser ibn-e Å ahr-Āšūb, has narrated from Ja’far ibn Aḥmad in the book, Al-ThÄqib fi l-manÄqib, that he said, ‘Once, ʾAbÅ« JaÊ¿far Muḥammad ibn Ê¿UthmÄn asked for me, and gave me two signed bundles and a sack with some dirhams in it. Then he told me, ‘I need you to forthwith go on your own to Wasit[4], and pass what I gave you to the first individual you meet when you leave the ship’.

He kept on, ‘It made me upset, and I said to myself that why he is sending someone like me to do such a job, to deliver such minor stuff. On the whole, I went to Wasit. There, as soon as I got off the ship, I asked the first one whom I met about Hassan ibn Qitat Seydalani, Waqf[5] lawyer of Wasit. The man returned, ‘I am that one, who are you?’

Then I told him, ‘AbÅ« Ja’far al-Ê¿AmrÄ« sent his regard to you, and he gave me these two bundles and that sack to deliver you’. He said, ‘Alhamdulillah. verily, Muḥammad ibn Ê¿Abd AllÄh Ḥa’irÄ«Ì„ has just passed away, and I came out to provide his shroud’. Then he opened the bundles, and saw that there were what he needed, such as camphor and hebar[6], and also in the sack, it was the fare for porters and wage of grave digger. He said, ‘Therefore, We buried his body and came back’.

he said, ‘Whatever it is, throw it into Dijla [Tigris]!’. She did so and returned to Abu al QÄsim Ruhi, while I was standing there. After that, Abu al QÄsim ordered his slave, ‘Take out the jewel box for us. ’He brought the jewel box to him, and [QÄsim] told the woman, ‘Is this the jewel box with you, that you threw it into Dijla?’ She replied, ‘Yes!’ He kept on, ‘Choose, whether I inform you about what is inside it, or you inform me’ she wondered, ‘Yes! You inform me!’

He explained, ‘There is a pair of golden bracelets. Also, there are: a big wedding ring; two small wedding rings. Also, there were two rings: one in Turquoise and the other in agate.’ He ordered them so firmly that nothing was left undone!

Anyway, he opened the jewel box and showed me what was inside it. Then the woman took a look inside it and said, ‘This is exactly what have been with me, and I threw it into Dijla.’

The woman and I were overjoyed to see this felicific miracle!

After narrating the last and the one before last AḥÄdÄ«th, Abi Ali BaqdÄdi Husayn, who was mentioned about previously said, ‘On the Day of Judgement, I will testify by God that what I told, was exactly true. And I didn’t add or subtract anything.

At last, he swore to 14 Infallible ImÄms (pbu th) that, ‘I just told the truth; not anything added nor reduced.’

They reacted, “There is another news on these properties, which we haven’t told!†Then he wondered, ‘What is it?’ They replied, ‘These properties are collected from the Shiite non- Sayyid people; some paid one dinar, some two dinars and others paid three dinars.’

However, this money will be put into a sack which will be sealed. Whenever we brought these properties, our Sayyid would state, ‘All the properties cost such amount of money. Such person paid this amount of money, the other paid that much, and other person paid the other amount.’ Yes, he named all the people and told us the design of seal on it.

There, Jaʿfar told, ‘You are lying! You are blaming my brother for what he did not do! This is Knowledge of Unseen!’

When the people heard the words of JaÊ¿far, some of them looked at others. There he said, ‘Go get the properties and bring it to me.’ They said, ‘We are the crowd who were mercenary, as we saw our Sayyid Haá¹£an (pbuh). Now, if you are the [true] ImÄm (pbuh), give the accurate description of those properties; otherwise, we will return the money to the owners. They can do whatever they want with it.

In this case, Jaʿfar went to the caliph who was in Samarra and complained about those people.

When they were present to the caliph, he ordered them, ‘Give the properties to Jaʿfar.’ And they expressed, ‘May God bless the caliph!’
