“Belief in Savior” in Buddhism

About the first century AD, Buddhism reached China.

Since then, they paid a lot attention to Maitreya.

Also, groups of the people who look forward the emergence, were found in Korea

They considered Maitreya as an important symbol.

Japanese also get the idea from Korea.

They have believed in Maitreya, as the one which brings about long lives and good luck.

Yet, there are some groups in japan are looking forward to its emergence.

It’s noticeable that Buddhists of all major Buddhist regions (in Asia), believe

Maitreya is born in their own area. In fact those people attribute him to themselves, not to the strangers.
