Mahdiism and the deviant sects

Introduction:

Shiites are like birds, having two wings; green and red. the green wing is the very Mahdiism and Advocacy of justice. Shiites are hopeful, so they are invincible.

Now the red wing, it’s the call for martyrdom. It originates from KarbalÄ and Huá¹£aynÄ« AshÅ«rÄ. Well, this issue has made Shiites irremovable.

The head of Communication college in the United States says that, by examining the cultures and nations in the world, he has reached the following conclusion:

Shiites have the greatest soft power in the world. And that refers to nothing but, Ḥusayni’ [pbuh]s Religious delegations. The people in wo months of mourning [Muḥarram and Ṣafar months], are wearing black and 20 million people participate in the Arbaˈeen March/walk.

Mahdism Therefore, it is natural to see some deviations in this regard. (Sometimes a self- seeker pretends to be the ImÄm (mgehr)!!!!)

Approaches to Mahdiism are of two types:

1-    Definite

2-    Indefinite

1-In this thought, the Promised savior1 “Mahdī†(mgehr) is the only specific ImÄm (The twelfth ImÄm (mgehr)]. And no one owns such a spiritual rank.

2-In this thought, the Promised savior changes according to the time, like á¹¢ufÄ« Movement (á¹¢ufism)2. In the late first AH, Haá¹£an al-Baá¹£rÄ«3 was the first, who founded á¹¢ufism. But he didn’t believe in ImÄm Alie (pbuh)’s caliphate! Also Abu HÄshim KufÄ«4, established á¹¢ufism and formed this movement during the time of ImÄm SadÄ«q (pbuh).

[Mind That] ImÄm Riá¸Ä (pbuh) stated, “Whoever hears about á¹¢ufism, but does not is not of us! And whoever denies á¹¢ufism, it’s like s/ he fought with disbelievers, in the presence of The Messenger of God [Prophet Muḥammad (pbuh&h)] and on the path of God. (SafÄ«nat al-BiḥÄr, Volume 2, Page 57)

ShÄh Ni’matullÄh WalÄ«4, was the first person in the world who tried to add á¹¢ufism to Shia beliefs. Hence, Iranian á¹¢ufis have been so called “Ni’matullÄhiâ€.

The features of the deviant sects:

(The claimers’ typology):

1-    They promise the people, that the path is easy and fast.

2-    They speak in something like street talk [but politer than it] (which convinces the addressees).

3-    They have the power to recognize the needs of the people.

4-    Their characters are charismatic (unique and unrepeatable).

5-    They are deconstructive.

Also according to Martyr Mutahhari, “Populism is worse than being stricken by floods, earthquakes, and bitten by snakes and scorpions.â€

Generally, communities that are overly emotional or communities that don’t just show up; This is the difference.

*When other people see how nicely and truly the religious behave, they will learn too. *

Likewise, God has stated to His Excellency Moses (pbuh),

“Go, both of you, to Pharaoh, for he has indeed transgressed all bounds;

But speak to him mildly; perchance he may take warning or fear [Allah]. (Surah Ta Ha, Verses 43-44)

1-    After ImÄm MahdÄ« (mgehr), prophet Jesus the Christ (pbuh) will emerge.

2-    It is variously defined as IslÄmic mysticism, the inward dimension of IslÄm or the phenomenon of mysticism within IslÄm, is mysticism in IslÄm, characterized … [by particular] values, ritual practices, doctrines and institutions which began very early in IslÄmic history and represents the main manifestation and the most important and central crystallization of mystical practice in IslÄm Practitioners of á¹¢ufism have been referred to as “á¹¢ufÄ«”.

3-    was an early Muslim preacher, ascetic, theologian, exegete, scholar, judge, and mystic. Born in Medina in 642, Haá¹£an belonged to the second generation of Muslims, all of whom would subsequently be referred to as the tÄbiÊ¿Å«n in Sunni IslÄmic piety. In fact, Haá¹£an rose to become one of “the most celebrated” of the tÄbiÊ¿Å«n. enjoying an “acclaimed scholarly career and an even more remarkable posthumous legacy in IslÄmic scholarship.

4-    The first person to be called a Sufi among Muslims, was Abu HÄshim KufÄ« al-ShÄmÄ«, and no one has been called by this name before him. He was one of the famous á¹¢ufis of the late second century AH.

5-    ShÄh Ni’matullÄh WalÄ« was a Persian Sufi Master and poet from the 14th and 15th centuries. He was revered by Sunni IslÄm as a saint and by the Ni’matullÄh tariqa, who considered him their founder.
